Admissions for Children with an EHCP
Many of our pupils have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and we welcome enquiries from families seeking a specialist educational placement. Where a child has an EHCP, the Local Authority will usually formally consult with the school. We will carefully review:
- The EHCP
- Educational reports
- Professional assessments
- Any additional information provided by the family or Local Authority
Our aim is to determine whether we can meet the child’s needs and whether a placement would be suitable.
Assessment and Transition Planning
Where appropriate, we may invite the child to attend assessment or taster sessions. This helps us to:
- Understand how best to support them
- Assess which class would best suit them
- Plan suitable provision
- Ensure a positive and successful transition into school
Placement Decision
Following consultation and assessment, we will work with the Local Authority to confirm whether a place can be offered. If a placement is agreed, our team will contact and support the family through the transition process to help the child settle confidently into school life. Registration forms will be sent to the parent(s) or carers and all information supplied.
Private and LA Funded Admissions Process
At Red Rose School, we understand that choosing the right educational setting for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. We work closely with families, Local Authorities and professionals to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, thrive and reach their full potential.
Initial Enquiry – We encourage parents, carers and professionals to contact our School Office Admissions Team to discuss your child’s needs and find out more about the school. This is an opportunity to:
- Learn about our provision and curriculum
- Discuss your child’s strengths and needs
- Ask any questions about school life
- Arrange a visit to the school
School Visit – We strongly recommend visiting the school to experience our environment first-hand. During your visit you will:
- Tour the school and facilities
- Meet our Head teacher and SENCo
- Learn about our therapeutic and educational approach
- Discuss whether Red Rose School may be an appropriate placement
For private admission applications – A recent psychological assessment report may be required before a formal registration can be accepted. Once a place has been offered, registration forms are required to be completed; these should be submitted along with the necessary registration fee.
Parents are required to confirm their acceptance in writing and enclose the current Acceptance Fee (non-refundable).
Private Fees
Parents will appreciate that specialist educational provision with such high staff/pupil ratio will be reflected in comparatively high fees. Term Fees are to be paid in full no later than two weeks prior to the commencement of each of the School’s three terms per year. Monthly fees are due on the first Monday of each month. Personal Accident Insurance is arranged by the School and is mandatory for all pupils.
