We invite you to view our Inspection Report 2018
Since our last report, Ofsted has scrapped it’s ‘One Word judgements’ in inspection reports. This practice was heavily criticised as unhelpful, often overriding the good practices of the whole school. The Ofsted processes are now under considerable scrutiny and reform will hopefully change for the better. Our inspection report took place in the last academic year and sadly reflects the old practice, undervaluing the ‘Good’ qualities of children’s personal development and behaviour: Inspection Report 2024.
The Government Parliamentary Inquiry into Ofsted practices in July 2023 was triggered by the national outcry of teachers, school staff and the education sector against punitive and heavy-handed inspections. It was seen in the death of a headteacher following her school’s devastating Ofsted inspection. We, along with many other schools, also suffered under mis-reported and factual errors in our previous inspection; Following our written submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry, they requested permission to publish our experience of the flawed Inspection and Report. The submission can be viewed here: Parliamentary Inquiry published submission: Red Rose School
